A symphony of delicious flavors and aromas come together in this lively and vibrant wine, including ruby red grapefruit and lemonlime, peach and nectarine, tropical notes of guava and mango, and a hint of fresh-cut grass.

There is “plenty” to love about this stylish wine, starting with generous of “Good ‘n Plenty” candy. The aromas are followed by an alluring mix of dark fruit flavors that envelop the palate with accent notes of chocolate and vanilla. The 2005 FAY Cabernet Sauvignon is smooth and silky, with a richness and persistence all the way through the slightly smoky oak finish.

Mourvèdre is an exotic grape found in the Rhône and Provence regions of France, Spain and Australia. It is a key component in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and has a starring role in Bandol. Once widely planted in California (where it is often called Mataro), today only a tiny amount exists and Cline owns many of the historic ancient vines that remain. Redolent of dark plum, chocolate with a hint of oak, this juicy Ancient Vines Mourvèdre is delicious now and will age for well over a decade.

A cornucopia of aromas emerges from this wine, with apple, white peach and orange blossom joining subtle layers of roasted almond and vanilla cream. Similar flavors are enjoyed on the palate with additional citrus notes. A delicate honey tone is supported by bright acidity all the way through the toasty brioche finish.

Focused and complex, the wine opens with aromas and flavors of black fruit—blackberry, currant, and plum—that slowly give way to layers of nutmeg, rosemary, grilled game, and warm pie crust. This firmly structured and full-bodied wine gains depth and richness through the finish.

Vintage Napa Valley's 2006 growing season was influenced initially by a warm February that tricked the vines into early budbreak and then, an unseasonably cold and very wet April caused the vines to stop growing. In May, the temperatures returned to normal and the vines resumed growth. Harvest started at the beginning of September and came to a close in early October. The growing season held many challenges, with extreme swings between hot and dry to cold and wet; the end result was a low yield and grapes with thick skins and great concentration. This wine shows aromas of evolved dark fruit and very supple, mature tannins on the finish.
