Straw yellow in color. Fresh and fragrant with delicate flowery notes of meadow flowers and clover accompanied by fruity hints of green apples and greengages. Fresh and harmonious with good body and an aftertaste reminiscent of citrus fruits.

Libaio is a truly special Tuscan Chardonnay. It benefits from the extraordinary quality potential of the Siena territory as well as the elegant and refined nature of Chardonnay. This wine is produced primarily with grapes grown on the La Solatia Estate, located near the medieval town of Monteriggioni. The name of the wine has been inspired by a small creek found on the estate. Recent experiments on white international grape varieties cultivated on Tuscan soil have given very encouraging results.

Behind the light straw color are aromas of sweet spring flowers, green tea, and a touch of fresh pineapple. The palate is framed by flavors of lemon meringue, fresh papaya, limestone, and subtle nuances of clove finishing with nectarine and light vanilla oak tones. This Chardonnay pairs well with scallops over spring greens with a fresh Meyer lemon vinaigrette.

Though shadowed by more prominent wine varietals the last two decades, Riesling is making a come-back. Harvested from our estate vineyards in Clarksburg and cool climate vineyards in Monterey County, this grape loves warm days and cool nights. The balancing act of crisp acidity and residual sweetness duels seductively on the palate. Fresh green apple and pear predominate, while peaches peek provocatively. Spicy tones of clove and allspice lend a pleasant and luscious thickness while hints of honeyed blossoms add a layer of complexity to a lovely and enjoyable wine. This well balanced bottle can be enjoyed with a multitude of foods: Asian-inspired dishes, aged cheese and fresh fruits.

This wine has its faithful followers. There's a semi sweetness to the latest bottling of this Vidal/Chardonnay blend that has been quite well received in the tasting room. A great wine with scallops.

The warmth of the Wahluke Slope produces Chardonnay with an appealing tropical fruit character and rich texture. The 2007 Indian Wells Chardonnay delivers ripe pineapple flavors and showcases the luscious opulence of Washington fruit. I like this wine with scallops, scampi, or pasta with slightly richer sauces.

This variety really comes into its own in Alsace exhibiting the full aroma of the grape. Its wines are full, balanced and very aromatic. Depending on the vintage, the principal aromas of Gewurztraminer are litchee, rose, ginger and geranium. The Trimbach Gewurztraminer is dry and shows classic restraint,

The Santa Margherita 2008 Pinot Grigio presents a slightly higher level of malic acid, resulting in a fresher and crispier wine. A pale straw yellow. Clean, crisp fragrance with intense yet elegant hints of quince. Fresh, harmonious fruit set off by slight sweetness with a long finish full of delicate, tangy flavor.
